The Rectangle Plate in Black Rough is part of Hataman Touen's Texture collection, a series developed in collaboration with professional chefs and designed to make food the focal point. Black Rough refers to the kiln's proprietary manganese crystal glaze, fired slowly at precise temperatures to coax the crystals to the surface, resulting in a hard, metallic quality and a surface that shifts in texture and depth across each piece.
The elongated rectangular form is well suited for composed plating, charcuterie, or any presentation that benefits from a strong linear canvas. Made by Hataman Touen in Imari, Japan.

Care
- Microwave and dishwasher safe, but avoid rapid temperature changes or thermal shock.
- Do not use on direct heat such as in an oven or on a gas stove.
- Wash with neutral detergent and a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, scouring pads, and cleansers, which can scratch the surface.
- Avoid hitting against other hard surfaces as porcelain may be vulnerable to chipping or breaking.
- For stubborn stains such as tea stains or hot water scale, use kitchen bleach according to instructions. Do not use bleach on gold, silver, or platinum decorated pieces, as it may cause discoloration.
