This mukōzuke is shaped like a flower. Mukōzuke is a dishware used to serve the first course in a kaiseki meal. The piece is wheel-thrown, then cut and shaped into a flower form. A soft peach-colored glaze is applied, with a layer of iron glaze along the edges.
Originally designed as a mukōzuke, it would also work beautifully for serving fruits or ice cream.
